Proposal: Applicant proposes the creation of outdoor seating in the existing parking lot area of the Thirsty Turtle located in the side yard of the subject property. The addition of outdoor seating to the business is being brought to the Code Review Committee in order to accommodate social distancing requirements related to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and in order to increase seating capacity for the existing business through the use of non-permanent seating accommodations.

    1. Requested clarification regarding circulation in the parking lot; is it still accessible?
      1. The applicant responded that employee parking is blocking access to all other vehicular traffic in the existing parking lot;
    2. Emphasized the need to provide visual and physical barriers / demarcation to protect patrons.

    1. Reiterated Jacqueline's comments re: safety and providing a substantial physical barrier;
    2. Noted that he will be available to provide guidance regarding indoor seating capacity once permitted as per State guidance.

    3. Noted that approvals are only valid through December 31, 2020, and any plans to make outdoor seating a permanent fixture of the business will require an application to the Planning Board.
