Conservation Center News-2024


Conservation Center Hours:

Wednesday: 9:20 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
Saturday: 9:20 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.
Sunday: 9:20 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.


For Curbside Recycling - The following are NOT ACCEPTABLE:

  • NO Plastic Bags of any kind
  • NO Plastic Storage Containers
  • NO Plastic Planters
  • NO Boxes with Styrofoam

**Do not use Laundry Baskets for recyclables as these items can be mistaken for recycling and The Township of Cranford/Giordano Company Inc. are not responsible for replacing such items.

The recommendation per Girodano, is a Blue Bin 32 gallon minimum - 64 gallon maximum.

One-time 'dump' for $20 is discontinued.

Please do not put latex gloves and masks in your recycling since these items should be put in your regular trash. 

Please no plastic garbage receptacles (pails).

CURBSIDE RECYCLING REMINDER recycle
Place your recyclables curbside by 6 a.m.

NO PLASTIC BAGS WILL BE ACCEPTED

Please take note of the following changes to curbside recycling pickup: 

  • Plastic bags of any kind are no longer accepted.
  • Only plastics stamped #1, # 2 or #5 are recyclable.
  • Shredded paper in plastic bags is no longer accepted at curbside.
  • Materials must not be contaminated with dirt, food remnants, or grease.
  • Paper products must be kept dry, as wet materials are not recyclable.
  • All  recyclable materials may be co-mingled in a reusable 32 gallon container, preferably with a lid. The container should be marked “recycling.”  Recycling Stickers are available in the Municipal Building, Library, Community Center and Conservation Center.

*Please check back frequently as mandatory changes and stricter guidelines will be affecting recycling throughout Union County.
*Permit stickers are NOT required for recycling at Conservation Center.  NOTE: Items must be seperated and placed in designated containers.  Containers are clearly labeled.
