Road Drainage Improvement Projects: Retford Ave., Nomahegan Road, and Nomahegan Court information

Road Drainage Improvement Projects

Retford Avenue (Lincoln Ave West to Cherry Street)

Nomahegan Road (Nomahegan Court to Kenilworth Blvd)

Nomahegan Court (Nomahegan Road to Kenilworth Blvd)

  • Retford Avenue - Improvements include establishing a consistent road width and installation of granite block curb. It also includes construction of ADA-compliant curb ramps, driveway replacement, drainage and roadway improvements.
  • Nomahegan Road - Improvements include establishing a consistent road width, installation of granite block curb, road reconstruction, HMA overlay, base repair, drainage improvements.
  • Nomahegan Court - Improvements include milling and paving, base repair and installation of rolled asphalt curb

The project has started on Retford Avenue and is expected to continue on Nomahegan Road and Nomahegan Court by May 1st. Roadway milling and paving operations for all three roadways is expected to follow in June and be completed by mid-June 2023. This schedule is weather dependent.   

These streets will be open to emergency Police, Fire and First Aid vehicles at all times. During the roadwork, please drive with extreme caution the roadway will be an active construction area. Traffic cones will be placed to indicate potential hazards and police will be on site during work.

There will be a table set up with Engineer Ty Apgar of Colliers Engineering, who can discuss the project and provide addition details. The Township’s Contractor, Dumor Construction, will also be available for questions. The plans are available online on the Township of Cranford’s Engineering website under Current Projects.
