Demolition of Footbridge to Begin April 17

Union County's contractor to replace the footbridge will begin tomorrow, April 17, to demolish the bridge and its support system. The contractor anticipates the demolition work to be completed in a few days. After demo, the contractor will install the bridge foundation on the riverbank.

Due to the County of Union's Bridge Replacement Project between Balmiere Parkway and Riverside Drive, slide 3 of the Cranford School Route Plan has been adjusted to reflect a temporary safe route.  Pedestrians should take the following route to detour from the footbridge during this closure, which is outlined in this amended Cranford School Route Plan for the affected area.
