NOTIFICATION OF MILLING & PAVING
NOTIFICATION OF MILLING & PAVING
Re: Elm Street Area Roadway Improvement Project
Dear Resident:
I am pleased to tell you that milling and paving is scheduled to begin as part of the road project in your neighborhood on Friday, July 22. This work is expected to take seven (7) total days to complete, weather conditions permitting, and will be phased to minimize your inconvenience.
- During the milling work, scheduled first, your road(s) will be closed to thru traffic but open to emergency vehicles. Each roadway should take less than one day to complete, and traffic will be allowed upon completion that evening. Extreme caution must be used when driving through the milling work zones.
- Once milling is complete on all the streets in the project, paving will begin on your roadway. During the work, sections of your road will be entirely closed and inaccessible for periods of time. No vehicles can be parked on the street during this operation. We ask that you limit the amount of travel required for a 24-hour period after paving, so your roadway has the best opportunity to succeed. In all, paving on your road should take one (1) day to complete and one (1) day to cure. Please see the reverse side of this notice for the phasing plan and instructions for access during the milling and paving project.
- There will be temporary signage with timeframe when parking restrictions will be in effect.
- Please note that any inclement weather or unforeseen conditions may cause delays to this schedule. If a schedule change occurs, you will be advised by an additional notice from the contractor. After milling and paving, the last step of striping takes one day, and will be scheduled and communicated to affected residents.
We greatly appreciate your assistance and cooperation, and more importantly, your patience during this longer than expected period of improvement for your area. We understand the amount of disruption you have endured throughout this project, so we will be doing our best to limit the inconvenience to you as we finish this project. The end result will be well worth it.
