Reconsidering the Bloomfield Avenue R-6 District

In June of 2019, the Office of Planning & Zoning completed the Reconsidering the Bloomingdale Avenue R-6 District Plan. This document examined the context of the R-6 District along and around Bloomingdale Avenue and provided numerous recommendations for rezoning the district. The Plan was reviewed by the Planning Board for consistency with the adopted Master Plan and Reexamination Report and referred to the Township Committee. The Township Committee passed the proposed rezoning plan via Township Resolution No. 2019-12. The resolution officially amends the Township Zoning Map and applicable regulations for numerous blocks in the study area in order to protect to the existing character and scale of the Bloomingdale Avenue neighborhood.
