Cranford Flood Prevention & Mitigation Advisory Committee

Cranford Flood Prevention & Mitigation Advisory Committee

Purpose: The Flood Prevention & Mitigation Advisory Committee advances flood control matters on a local, regional and state level by advising the Township Committee, assisting with the implementation of flood control measures, and informing and mobilizing residents.

The FPMAC consists of two working groups:

  • The Stormwater Infrastructure Subcommittee focuses on Cranford-specific issues, including stormwater ordinances, stormwater mitigation efforts, and local stormwater infrastructure needs
  • The State-Regional Planning Subcommittee focuses on inter-county, state and federal plans and improvements to prevent and mitigate flooding of the Rahway River flood plain

Each FPMAC subcommittee will be made up of no more than seven people, including the Chairperson, and a Township Committee liaison. The Mayor and the two Working Group Chairpersons will make up the FPMAC Steering Committee and provide all reports and recommendations of the subcommittees to the Township Committee.
