First Aid Squad

Cranford First Aid Squad, a non-profit organization, has been serving the Township of Cranford since 1953. We provide emergency service to the Township of Cranford, Monday thru Friday 6:30 pm – 5:30 am, and the entire weekend, Saturday and Sunday. We operate 100% by community donations. All of our members are volunteers between the ages of 16 and 76. Our organization is composed of six administrative officers, five line officers, ambulance drivers and EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians).

We provide free Emergency Service at Cranford community events such as the Memorial Day Parade, summer Street fairs, the Cranford Halloween Parade, Cranford High School football games, July 4 th fireworks at Nomahegan Park, and numerous 5k races. We offer community and healthcare CPR to all and teach the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts basic First Aid.

We additionally have a Cadet program to allow high school students ages 16 – 18 gain experience in emergency care. Our Cadets become EMTs in High School, ride with us and gain leadership and emergency care skills. We are proud to say that our Cadets and general members continue to grow in the health care field and pursue medical professions as Physicians, Physician’s Assistants, Nurses, EMTs and EMT Firemen.
