What is the difference between Cranford Fire EMS and the Cranford First Aid Squad?

The Cranford First Aid Squad (CFAS) is a private volunteer organization which has no affiliation with the Township of Cranford. Cranford Fire EMS is the Township’s emergency medical services provider. Cranford Fire EMS consists of Full Time EMTs, Per Diem EMTs and Firefighter EMTs.

Cranford Fire EMS hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 5:30AM to 6:30PM. The Cranford First Aid Squad (CFAS) handles emergency medical calls Monday – Friday, from 6:30PM to 5:30AM, as well as on weekends. In the event that CFAS cannot staff an ambulance, the Cranford Fire Department EMTs will respond with a Cranford Fire EMS ambulance.
