Annealed Studio, a Place for Creativity and Jewelry Making, Opens Downtown

Three years ago, Tricia Greeley and her husband Rob were on the hunt for unique wedding bands. They ended up at the home of a designer where they spent the day making rings. Tricia loved the experience of working with metal and started taking classes in that medium. She would travel to Wayne every week for the classes, and then eventually started a Meetup group for people who were also interested in jewelry making. Tricia recognized that there was a real need for a studio where people could take classes, and also where designers could stop by for a few hours and work. Tricia and Rob started hunting for a space and their search took them to Downtown Cranford, where they found the perfect place for their new business at 107 North Union Ave.

Annealed Studio caters to all skill levels. The studio offers beginner classes for Metals, Wax, and Precious Metal Clay, with additional classes in these mediums offered for students in all levels. These skill classes run between 8 and 10 weeks, with workshops focused on a certain project usually running for a day or two. There are two main instructors at the studio, Jill Hurant and Kelly Grady. In addition to classes, the studio also offers Open Bench Time for people who want to work on their own projects or hone their skills.

Tricia is excited to offer people another option for a fun night out experience. The space can host up to 12 people for events like Girl’s Night Out, a date night, parties, or corporate events. She’s also offering retail space to local designers who are part of the community. The idea of bringing the local jewelry making community to the space is a big part of why Tricia wanted to open Annealed Studio.

The variety of projects available at Annealed Studio is vast. A quick scroll through the completed projects on their Facebook page shows coin rings, hamsa bracelets, copper cuffs, and even etched copper guitar picks. "We're so excited to bring this studio to Cranford," said Tricia. "We also love that we can offer up a space for the jewelry making community. We felt that we were taking a leap in opening this business but we're already overwhelmed with the postive response."
